Theatre Support Fund+ in Partnership with Aqua Shard and Veuve Clicquot

Act II: Christmas Reimagined

The show-stopping tree at aqua shard, made up by 800 hundred paintbrushes lit and delicately hung, is to return in 2021 for Act II: Christmas re-imagined. Initially created in 2020 to support the theatre industry which was brought to its knees by COVID, award-winning British set designer Soutra Gilmour created a tree to celebrate the movers and shakers that bring productions alive.

"I have been devastated by the effects the pandemic has had on the theatre industry but I am also proud of what we have achieved by standing together through these times. Chris and Damien at the Theatre Support Fund+ have done such profound work by raising this incredible amount of monies. There are still many workers who need our support and I am delighted to be able to support their campaign. I wish them all the best in their continued journey to help freelancers until our theatres can open again, The Show Must Go On!"

"Their efforts have helped hundreds of freelancers who have received support from the Fleabag Support Fund and we wouldn't have been able to achieve this without the dedication, imagination and downright style that they brought to their campaign. I have been thrilled to be able to support this project and thank them deeply for choosing to donate to the Fleabag Support Fund. I'm consistently blown away by the care for and within the theatre community. Chris and Damien are two of its heroes!"

The Charities

Acting for Others

For every successful actor, there are hundreds of performers, backstage and front-of-house theatre staff who are not so fortunate. They may be suffering from illness, disability, or be caring for children with special needs. Many in our industry lend their support or put their name to other good causes but, like any profession, we also try to take care of our own.

Fleabag Support Fund

The Fleabag Support Fund will partner with charities responding to the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic to provide grants to freelancers working in the theatre industry who are in urgent financial need and unable to work as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.

NHS COVID-19 Urgent Appeal

The NHS Charities National Covid-19 Urgent Appeal was launched to acknowledge and support NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by Covid-19 across the country. The campaign was put together in liaison with national health service bodies, NHS Charities Together member charities and board.

The money raised is funding grants to help NHS charities support NHS staff, volunteers and patients in ways above and beyond what NHS funding can ordinarily provide, including wellbeing packs, rest and recuperation rooms, electronic tablets for isolated patients to communicate to loved ones. The funds will also resource vital care partnerships and longer term mental health recovery of staff and families
